Serve our Sichuan Chili Garlic Dan Dan Sauce with a variety of Sichuan (Szechuan) style dishes including dan dan noodles with ground pork or lamb, chicken stir-fry, Sichuan green beans, Pho beef broth soup or as a dipping sauce for dumplings and wontons.

Inspired by a Sichuan dining experience in Philly's old city, it was a delightfully face numbing night of spice, Sichuan pepper and noodles.  The making of our Sichuan Dan Dan sauce in keeping with traditional ingredients, brings together several separately made key components. First, our in-house chili oil is made with crispy fried garlic and three traditional chili peppers.  Then we add the aromatic layering of spices which include star anise, cinnamon and of course Sichuan pepper. Finally, we finish with the brightness of black Chinese vinegar, the nuttiness of tahini and it's all brought together with organically brewed tamari. This make for a deeply complex, savory sauce with a flavor and spice that lingers long after the last mouthful.
