A Soothing Tonic of Hot Water, Spices, Whiskey, and Honey. A favorite winter warmer, the hot toddy is sipped as a soothing tonic before bedtime, or as relief to cold, wet weather. It was named for the toddy drink in India, created from a drink of the toddy palm, then carried to Scotland by the East India Company as a hot whiskey drink of water, honey, herbs, and spices.
Ingredients: Cinnamon Sticks, Lemongrass, Ginger, Lemon Peel
Size/Type: 1.5oz Spices - Brews 1 Gallon
Shelf Life: 3 Years
For a Single Serving: • Fill spice bag with 1 tablespoon spices. • Add spice bag and 1 cup boiling water to a glass tumbler. • Steep spices 5 minutes, then remove spice bag. • Add 1 teaspoon honey. • Stir in 2 ounces of whiskey, rum, or brandy. • Top off the glass with boiling water, serving steaming hot with a cinnamon stick.
