File Powder

A peppery herbal lemon flavor with bitter notes reminiscent of root beer (sassafras).  

Use For:  Gumbos, stews, chowders, grits, gravies.  Often used as a thickening agent for stews and gumbos. File Powder can also be used to add flavor to seafood, shellfish and rice.

Ingredients: Ground sassafras powder, ground oregano, and ground thyme.
