Edward Teach, a.k.a. the pirate Blackbeard, called North Carolina home and raided the waters of Trinidad and the greater Caribbean with impunity. Using peppers named for those regions this sauce creates a fiery, intense concoction . . . just like the man himself. Interesting side note: Chili’s have far greater concentrations of vitamin C than oranges. So here’s to your lack of scurvy, you landlubber.
