Nicknamed the “Little Smokies” because of the area’s resemblance to the Great Smoky Mountains, Brown County encompasses nearly 16,000 acres of rugged hills, ridges and fog-shrouded ravines. Glaciers from the most recent ice ages stopped short of the “hills o’ Brown,” but their meltwaters helped create the narrow ridges, steep slopes and deep gullies of Brown County State Park. Indiana’s largest park is a traditional fall color hot spot, with nearly 20 miles of tree-lined roads and many scenic vistas overlooking miles of uninterrupted forestland.
The Brown County Music Center is a 2000-seat live performance venue. Nestled on the banks of Salt Creek and located less than one-mile from the largest state park in Indiana and the Village of Nashville, this indoor entertainment venue will host world-class rock, blues, country, pop, jazz, oldies, throwback artists, and more.
The Bill Monroe Music & Campground is a great venue. They offer performances throughout the year including: Blues Fest, Biker Fest, Uncle Pen Days, and Bean Blossom Lights - an interactive Christmas experience. The Campground has over 450 tent sites, 30/50 amp electric and water hookups as well as multiple cabins! With over 55 acres, Bill Monroe’s offers both wooded and open sites and are big rig friendly. The facilities are complete with hot showers, clean restrooms, 2 dump stations, stocked fishing lake, walking trails, and so much more! The campground is open May-October with 5 cabins available year round!
